Single-family house extension and construction of a pergola in the garden, Llavaneres.

 

A project for the expansion of a single-family house and the creation of a pergola in the garden of the same house in Sant Andrés de Llavaneres.

 

The design consists of one volume of metal structure on the 1st floor and a façade of wooden "criber" for the exterior of the house and a pergola in the deploye garden with a structure of 4 L-profiles, which will disappear under the extensive vegetation in conjunction with the roof. Metal and wood are the main elements of this project, both elements thought to keep the balance between them and the privileged nature that surrounds the house. 

 

This reform and extension project manages to integrate the new elements into the existing house, providing a little more geometric rigor to the north façade through the implementation of a module that rearranges the structure, the windows and the cladding. Two bedrooms and a bathroom were added on the slab on the kitchen roof, on the first floor and located to the north, as a consequence the existing terrace on the east façade is now accessible, which has an exit on one of the new bedrooms.

 

The metal profile structure, tangent to the façade, gained space on the ground floor and thus restructure the interior of the kitchen and the access through this part of the house. An auxiliary body module for the changing rooms, bathrooms, barbecue and pergola is located in front of the pool, taking advantage of the unevenness produced by the ground, thanks to the execution of a small retaining wall that is hidden by the changing rooms and sinks. Green steps and a pergola were created too, as an element to visually unify the entire intervention; the pergola is also expected to be hidden by the vegetation.
