LA INDIANA

Single-family housing in Caldes d'Estrac, Maresme.

The housing development "La Indiana" is imagined as a collected urban piece with a clear aim to transition from a compact urban area to other of lower density, such as the isolated single-family homes located above. "La Indiana" is a project that blends together density, privacy, surroundings and coexistence in the same place.

This housing development is located in Caldes d’Estract, Maresme, 47 km from Barcelona, and its placed on a 2-hectare plot with 14,000 m2 to construction, facing southeast between three deviation streets of 30 m in the minimum distance of 120 m.

The proposal consists of the construction of 48 single-family houses in short rows and a segment of 8 apartments that would configure a residential neighborhood, joining 10 different models in a common design. Furthermore, with such a characteristic topography between levels 70 and 100, the creation of ramps, streets and communicated spaces is a priority for the coexistence and the quality of life of the residents.

The houses are made of exposed concrete, wood and copper, more than 20 meters deep, with their small gardens and entrances that preserve privacy, respect the views and adapt to the topography; a clear inspiration of the emblematic town houses in the municipality of Caldetes. The Ugalde house is spotted 20 meters away from the housing development and to the west.

A small new neighborhood in the smallest coastal town in Catalonia: Cadles d'Estarc. To date, 19 houses have been built in three rows, with their respective common areas, and 12 more houses are under construction.
