VERDI 2020
Apartment reform.
Renovation of a 5.58m interior corridor floor and a useful depth of 11.80m. It has two facades facing Verdi Street, with three windows and a 70cm deep balcony. The south-west facade gazes the garden on the ground floor. This apartment is located inside a block more than 100 years old that I structurally and partially rehabilitated in 2012.
It has a structure of solid brick load-bearing walls, ceramic vaults and 7cmx22cm wooden beams; and a useful area of 60m2.
The program was as follows: a request for a complete reform of the apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen/dining room/living room, a washing machine area and a study. The solution we found was to design a main room à la Verdi: with a study/dressing room and a bathroom; the dressing room and bathroom were placed in the center, configuring a central wooden box that distributes the entire house.
The dining room/living room/kitchen is located to the southwest, overlooking the apple tree of the interior garden; the secondary room is designed with a sliding wall that can be hidden during the day to make an extension of the living area. Moreover, oriented to the south-west there is a small pre-existing rehabilitated bathroom.
